Message from the Chair of the Young Democrats Committee
My name is Tad Wootton and I am proud to call Key West home. I have enjoyed working in left leaning politics and government for over a decade now. My previous work has included campaigning, legislative, lobbying, in-depth media coverage, and my last position was that of a political appointee for former Governor Janet Napolitano (AZ Dem) serving in the capacity of Director of Efficiency Review - working to establish a leaner and smarter state government.
I consider myself a pragmatic progressive who cares for working class and middle class Americans. I feel deep compassion for these two groups because I feel their needs are most often overlooked.
I want to see a Florida Keys Young Democrats group that is close knit and committed to working on causes that advance our community for the betterment of all Florida Keys citizens.
I believe the words of Margaret Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
We have 3 main goals for the Young Democrats Committee:
1. Get young people involved in local politics
2. Increase voter registration of young people
3. Improve the level of education and awareness of the issues.
